Unfortunately, getting to them will be nearly impossible for the United States and its allies, because the containers with the strategic materials are not in Iraq.

Biometric technology that scans faces, fingerprints or other physical characteristics to confirm people's identities is about to get its biggest, most public test: at U.S. border checkpoints.
Yet significant questions loom about whether the U.S. and foreign governments can meet an Oct. 26, 2004, deadline set by Congress for upgrading passports and visas to include biometrics.
"This is the mother of all projects -- there's no question about it," said Joseph Atick, chief of Identix Corp., a maker of biometric systems.

"Sobig smashed all the records in terms of pure numbers, but that's not nearly the whole story," said Simpson. "This is the sixth in a series of controlled experiments. This isn't about some kiddy writing viruses in his bedroom--this is really a very sophisticated example of organized crime."
And he believes there may be far worse to come.
Simpson explained that the purpose of getting Sobig onto the computer is not to cause damage or purely to drive wide and rapid spread, but to gain control of machine, by downloading a Trojan and gain access to information such as bank details for the purpose of fraud. China plans airborne unit near Taiwan Strait: report
China is planning to set up a combat airborne division closer to Taiwan in response to the growing independence movement on the island, a report said Tuesday.
The People's Liberation Army (PLA) is planning to set up a second airborne division, based in Hangzhou in eastern coastal Zhejiang province, reported the China-backed Wen Wei Po, citing unidentified sources.
The sources said the sitting up of the new airborne division showed the PLA was focusing part of its strategic force on the Taiwan Strait, as "Taiwan indepedence seekers continue to challenge the country's sovereignty".

Fluoride Linked to Low IQ, Studies Show
"As the fluoride levels in drinking water increased, the IQ fell and the rates of mental retardation and borderline intelligence increased," write researchers Xiang, et al.
Tested were 512 children, aged 8-13 years from Wamiao, a high-fluoride village, and Xinhuai, a low-fluoride village. The high-fluoride village was divided into five subgroups by water fluoride levels, from 0.62 mg Fluoride per Liter to 4.38 mg F/L. As water fluoride levels increased within the high fluoride village, IQ decreased.
"When the data from the 512 children in the two villages were considered as a whole, a significant inverse correlation was found between IQ and the level of fluoride in urine," the researchers report. "These results are consistent with the findings recorded by Li at al.(3), Zhao et al.(4), and Lu et al.(5) of an inverse correlation between intelligence and dietary fluoride from either contaminated food or drinking water," they report.

The International Atomic Energy Agency has confirmed that its inspectors have found traces of weapons-grade enriched uranium at an Iranian nuclear facility, increasing the pressure on Tehran over its nuclear programme.
According to diplomats familiar with a new report by the UN's nuclear watchdog, environmental sampling found particles of highly enriched uranium at Natanz, a vast plant still under construction about 320 miles south of Tehran.

Al-Qaeda has claimed they caused the recent blackout in the Northeast. But Elizabeth Baron who is a psychic, says, "No one will believe this but this is the work of a 15-year-old boy with the mind of a genius with the computer."
She claims the boy lives in Canada and says, "He has studied so much about electricity and how it works across the country. As this happened, there was a stoppage when two men stopped that chain of reaction. If they had not intercepted, it would have gone all the way over to Oklahoma and all the way down to Florida. But this was not an act of terrorism but the act of a 15-year-old boy who did much of this without touching anything within a plant whatsoever."

It's just a tiny typewritten line tucked away in an immense archive, but it sheds further light on the Nazi past of Arnold Schwarzenegger's father.
The entry in one of millions of papers stored at the Austrian state archives shows that Gustav Schwarzenegger, the late father of the film star now running for governor of California, was a volunteer member of the Sturmabteilung, or SA — the notorious Nazi stormtroopers also known as Brownshirts.

A group of Egyptian expatriates living in Switzerland is getting ready to sue "all the Jews of the world" for taking Egyptian treasure with them when they escaped during the Exodus, which religious scholars thnk occurred between 1400 and 1300 BC.
The lawsuit is being organized by law professor Nabil Hilmi, who says, "At that time, they stole from the Pharaonic Egyptians gold, jewelry, cooking utensils, silver ornaments, clothing, and more, leaving Egypt in the middle of the night with all this wealth, which today is priceless.

THE massive internet child pornography investigation Operation Ore has ended in Scotland without anybody being charged with sex abuse, senior police officers have revealed.
Police chiefs are dismayed that no one found to have accessed child pornography on the web is being prosecuted for abuse despite officers having "grave doubts" about the safety of children living with them.
According to the senior officers, the 16-month operation, costing millions of pounds and involving all eight Scottish police forces, failed to gather the necessary evidence.
The Scottish arm of Operation Ore was wound up three weeks ago after investigating some 350 people north of the Border, about 200 of whom were in Strathclyde and 70 in Lothian and Borders.

US, Pak made 'deal' over capture of Bin Laden: report
London: Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf possibly struck a deal with the US not to capture Osama bin Laden after the Afghan war for fear of inciting trouble in his own country and the al-Qaeda leader is hiding in northern tribal areas of Pakistan, a media report has said.
An agreement was reached between Musharraf and the US authorities shortly after the terrorist mastermind fled from Tora Bora caves in eastern Afghanistan with the Taliban regime collapsing, The Guardian said quoting Monsoor Ijaz, a Pak-American financier who has spent years tracking Laden's movements and operations.
The Pakistanis feared that to capture or kill Laden soon after a hugely unpopular war would incite civil unrest in Pakistan and trigger a spate of revenge al-Qaeda attacks on western targets across the world, the expert said.
